Dr. Reynolds takes pride in her ability to take care of patients through all stages of life. As a mom herself, she has a few tips that she wants her patients to know!
During your appointment, you probably have lots of questions to ask your gynecologist—but often, you aren’t able to really get to know your doctor on a personal level. That’s why we want to spotlight our doctors on the blog! So, take a look at the answers that Dr. Reynolds gave us when we spoke with her, and learn a little bit more about what makes this Little Rock gynecologist tick!
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Little Rock, my husband and I moved back as we both have family here and knew it is a wonderful community to raise a family.
We hear that you were an assistant professor at UAMS. What was your favorite part about teaching?
I loved teaching the residents. It was personally rewarding to know you had a part in shaping these young doctors into being skilled and compassionate surgeons and clinicians.
How did you and your husband meet?
We met in medical school. He loved to kick the back of my chair for attention ????
How many children do you have? Do you have any tips for first-time moms about how to survive the first months with a new baby?
We have Olivia, who was born in early 2015, and Liam, who was born in late summer 2016. My best piece of advice to new moms is do what works best for your family, not what society or social media tells you SHOULD work best. Babies are only babies for such small period, so enjoy every aspect of it. As they say, “this too shall pass.”
You and your husband are both doctors, and you have children as well. How do you balance work life, family life, and social life? What kind of advice would you give to patients who struggle with this balance?
One of my medical colleagues once told me being a parent is the hardest job you will ever love, and it is so true! We balance 2 of the 3, to be honest. We value family first, then work very hard for a successful career. Anything social is simply icing on the cake!
What is your favorite part of your job as an OB/GYN doctor?
The privilege of developing a relationship with my patients that can see them through the most important moments in their lives.
What do you want your patients to know about you before they book an appointment to see you?
This area of medicine can be a very uncomfortable topic for a lot of patients. It is very important for me to create an environment where people feel at ease with discussing any issue and leave with a good understanding of the care I give.
